Diet Cola Chicken

Diet friendly barbeque style chicken breasts.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix ketchup and diet cola (like diet Coke) in a medium bowl.
  2. Arrange 4 chicken breasts in a large skillet, pour ketchup and cola mixture over the top. Ensure that mixture covers chicken on all sides.
  3. Turn burner to medium heat and cook for 30 minutes, covered, stirring and scraping occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove lid and cook an additional 10-15 minutes until chicken is done and sauce sticks to chicken.

This was easy, very tasty and moist. The whole family loved it. I added a few onions, a little garlic salt and a little bit of hot sauce to spice it up a bit. Will do again.

I enjoyed the chicken as mush as any other barbecue chicken that I have had. Such a relief to have chicken that tastes good and is good for you.

I love this and my family has requested it often. I will say I use Diet Rootbeer and found it to be the best of the diet colas... Great for a quickie dinner when you can't think of something else to make

I love cola chicken even when I'm not dieting. I am a huge fan of "diet" food with big flavor. I was really suprised at how good it was the first time you made it for me.

This is very yummy! I added liquid hickory smoke and garlic to boost the flavor.

I make this pretty often. I like to add a little diced onion and garlic powder to the sauce, helps to tame the sweetness which not everyone loves in a bbq sauce (I personally like it either way). I also like to shred the chicken in the sauce and make bbq chicken sandwiches!
