Diet friendly barbeque style chicken breasts.
Ingredients
Directions
- Mix ketchup and diet cola (like diet Coke) in a medium bowl.
- Arrange 4 chicken breasts in a large skillet, pour ketchup and cola mixture over the top. Ensure that mixture covers chicken on all sides.
- Turn burner to medium heat and cook for 30 minutes, covered, stirring and scraping occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove lid and cook an additional 10-15 minutes until chicken is done and sauce sticks to chicken.

I really enjoy this recipe! And so does my husband, which is rare. I make it in the crock pot so that I have very little clean up.

We loved it. Hubby says it is a "keeper". Did add small amount of dried onion to the mixture.

I make this quite often. .I always add green pepper, celery, onion.. and I substitute Diet Cherry Cola if I have it in the house! Excellent on chicken or pork!

Made up a batch of chicken using this recipe. Ate from it for several days. It went with just about any side. Delicious! Perfect recipe for the single person.

this was a excellent alternative to bbq sauce. Per suggestions I added some garlic powder, salt & soy sauce to take away some of the sweetness of the pop & ketchup. However, I think it needs a little more spice. This is just my opinion, my fiancee & I like our food spicy. Might try some red pepper flakes to see how that works.
